"Let's imagine days to create memories. Chronicles of daily digital resistance, relationships, school, and other nonsense". This is the title of one of the talks scheduled for Thursday, July 8, at 9 pm, on the Terrazza dei Tuffi in Polignano a Mare, during the 20th edition of the Festival il Libro Possibile, where Andrea Maricelli, C&C Teacher and Apple Distinguished Educator, will intervene. Piera Schiavone will interview him.

The Festival Il Libro Possibile, now a national cultural event and an important reference point for the promotion and dissemination of culture, is inspired this year by the famous song "Ma il cielo è sempre più blu", taking inspiration from the 40th anniversary of Rino Gaetano's passing. A theme that lends itself to multiple declinations in different areas: from environmental to current affairs and information, from literature to law, from art to entertainment, to science and innovation.

And this is where C&C Apple Authorised Education Specialist comes in: Andrea Maricelli, starting from the famous Gaetano's song titled "Suppose a love", will broadly review the complex period that the school has experienced because of Covid and the crucial importance that technology has played, not without the skills of many men and women.

February 28, 2020. In Lombardy, the school closes, shortly thereafter the same would happen throughout Italy. Millions of students and teachers suddenly find themselves having to deal with something they never imagined they would have to experience, while the school turns out to be largely unprepared to cope with the new emergency.

New technologies are there, they allow us to overcome the obstacle in unthinkable ways if all this had happened 15 years earlier, but not everyone has access to them: schools and the Ministry try to find a rapid solution or, at least, to intervene on the most evident emergencies.

While pedagogy calls for a return to the classroom, it reminds teachers to seek new ways to conduct their work: obsolete teaching and evaluation systems show all their inadequacy.

Teachers have nothing left but to try to resist for the time that would be necessary and that - we hope - is almost over, with everything they have at their disposal: their technological skills, high or low, their bond with their students, and the beauty of what they teach, naked and cleansed of the need for grading, presented to their students for the first time in an absolute sense and not aimed at anything else.

From the direct experience of a secondary school literature teacher, a reflection and a story among the many of those who have seen Italian schools engaged in the greatest challenge that our recent time remembers, and who hopes that from that complex experience we can really make the most of it to create a better school.

The Festival's programming includes the participation of illustrious national and international guests, including writers, journalists, scientists, high institutional figures, entrepreneurs, personalities from the entertainment and cultural world, and emerging authors from the Italian literary scene. Here is the complete program of the event.
