There are 331 million euros immediately available to state schools to start organizing the September recovery. These are the sums allocated by the so-called Relaunch Decree, which also provides for the disbursement of 135 million euros for private schools. Funds that all schools have received in these hours and can start spending immediately. The measure also allocated 39.23 million euros for the safe conduct of the Cycle II State Exams, which will begin on June 17th: they can be used for cleaning, sanitizing, safety devices. It also increases the National Fund for the Integrated System of Education and Instruction by 15 million euros.      


Resources for state schools
The 331 million euros allocated for the September recovery can be used, among other things, for safety devices, sanitizing, cleaning, but also for the training and updating of staff, agile work and safety in the workplace, medical and psychological assistance services, digital tools for the adaptation of laboratories.

School principals will establish spending priorities based on the needs of their schools. Resources can, for example, also be used to redesign internal and external teaching spaces, to purchase new school furniture or materials needed to create entrance and exit routes and use spaces safely, to carry out maintenance and extraordinary cleaning.      

The allocated resources increase the Fund for the functioning of school institutions. The aim is to maximize school autonomy and allow school principals to adapt the use of their finances to the real needs and characteristics of the school institutions.    

Resources for State Exams      
The Relaunch Decree provides for the disbursement of 39.23 million euros to all secondary schools of the II grade for the correct conduct, in presence and safety, of the oral examination which will constitute this year's high school diploma. Assigned based on the number of venues in which the school institution is articulated and based on the number of students and staff units, the resources can be used for the purchase of personal protective equipment, disinfectant gel and dispensers, specific products and detergents for thorough cleaning. Over 8.2 million will go to the exam venues run by private schools.    

Resources for private schools      
The Relaunch Decree provides, in compensation for fees not paid during the months of school closures due to the Covid-19 epidemic, 70 million euros for primary and secondary private schools and 65 million for educational services and kindergarten schools. For the latter, the allocation of resources took into account the important and irreplaceable subsidiary role they play for children in the 0-6 year age group and for their families.

Integrated 0-6 years system, there are 15 million more
The Relaunch Decree also provides for an increase of 15 million euros in the National Fund for the Integrated System of Education and Training. Resources, soon available to local authorities, which can be spent on the construction of new buildings, building renovation, requalification and safety, adaptation to fire regulations, energy saving and usability of buildings. It will also be possible to use the resources to cover part of the management expenses of educational services for children and kindergarten schools, for ongoing training of educational and teaching staff.
