International emergency calls
For added safety when traveling, users with Apple Watch Series 5 models with cellular connectivity can now make international calls to emergency services, regardless of where the device was originally purchased or whether a data plan was activated. International emergency calls also work with fall detection (if activated), to automatically initiate an emergency call when Apple Watch detects that the user has had a bad fall and has not moved for about a minute.
watchOS 6
watchOS 6 has additional features for health and fitness, including the new Cycle Tracking app, which allows recording important menstrual cycle-related information and seeing the date of the next menstruation or identifying the fertile period conveniently from the Apple Watch. The Noise app helps users understand when the noise levels of the surrounding environment, for example at a concert or sporting event, may be harmful to hearing, while fitness trends on iPhone offer a long-term view of their physical activity, allowing them to assess their progress. watchOS 6 also has new dynamic faces, including Meridian, Modular Compact, and Solar Dial, which can be easily customized to quickly access favorite apps.
